How long is a session? How long do I stay in counseling for? Most sessions are 50 to 60 minutes. I usually see people weekly at first and then every other week, though this depends on your treatment goals. The overall length of treatment is different for each person, but a majority of my clients are in treatment for 6 months to a year.
If you are uninsured or paying out of pocket, you will receive a good faith estimate on your treatment.
Is therapy confidential? It is. You can refer to my Notice of Privacy Practices to get all the details (see below). We can talk about your privacy concerns and develop a plan that you are comfortable with. We’ll also discuss how to handle bumping into each other outside of counseling. Salida is a small town!
What kind of insurance do you take? I some EAP benefits, Colorado Medicare, and some insurance.
Can I bring somebody with me? Of course! Counseling should support and enhance your most cherished relationships. I extend my welcome to the important people in your life.
I don’t see my problem discussed on your website. Can we still work together? Maybe. The best way to find out is to give me a call and tell me what you are looking for. I will let you know if your particular problem is outside of my range of expertise. If it is, I can help you identify a more appropriate therapist.
Do you see kids? I often work with tweens and teenagers who want help with mood, anxiety, self-esteem, or identity issues.
